Well, as some have noted, I've finally gotten around to trying to make models for Quake 3. The first one I'm doing is actually a conversion of a mesh I made for the game Freedom Force a few months back.
It was originally designed as a Valkyrie type, and in FF she used twin swords (since any weapons or the like were PART of the mesh).
Naturally, she no longer has her swords, but is gonna trade them in for a rocket launcher first chance she gets.
She might be pushing the envelope a bit - she's right at 2000 tris. Nowadays the systems can handle it easily, so I'm probably gonna leave the main one where it is. On the other hand, I'm not quite sure how to make LOD support (both reducing polycount without having the skins go haywire, AND howto set everything up to accept it).
She uses a single 512x512 skin, by the way:

By the way, the picture of the model itself was done in Max, with a "Zero strength light" and the skin applied as a self-illumination map as well.
