Why in the world cant you use google video in germany?

Motives: only some content can be played in some countries, because of licensing / copyright laws.

Google explain this in full on their site.

Meaning probably that if and when ABC / HBO etc run programs on there, unless you have a USA IP address, you won't see the programming.

It works for the entire rest of Europe, I think it may be because of the youth protection laws that make showing unrated media to minors a criminal offense.
