Just bought it! I think opencanvas is great as well and bought oc4 a while ago, but the painting in this is very smooth from what i'm seeing so far and you can save in psd now, i'm going to have to play around with it some more...
I downloaded the trial version just to check it out, and it's pretty cool how the program handles paint. It simulates real-life paint on canvas pretty well, but unfortunately I don't have much experience working in that medium. It was fun playing around with the paint and brush and experimenting with mixing paints and such, so maybe I'll buy the full version and learn to become proficient with that sort of painting. Pretty cool program.
oXYnary: It doesn't have anywhere near the amount of brushes and customisability options that Painter has, however the limited set it does have are probably the most useful and fun brushes - 75% of the brushes in Painter you'd probably never use anyway.
Downloading now! I've loved this program since it first came out.
