Remember that neat little dev team that made far cry? well here's Crytek's new engine crysis. apparently a dx10 based setup though I am not 100% sure about that part
yeah, i saw this a while ago too. still, it's wonderful stuff, i can't wait for this and that realistic water thing to be mixed in the same engine. but i'm more interested in the surrealist possibilities, making everything look like real life will be boring, i can see trees anytime i want.
Yeah, this was sorta released in september, of course, it was very lowres, because it was filmed by someone in the crowd at a conference. So this is much nicer, even though it doesn't have the nice music playing, haha.
Though the island reminds me of the islands from black and white 2, just on a much, much, much larger scale.
I'm moving to Crysis from Reality Engine if everything goes well financialy this year. It's just flat out more impressive than anything else i've seen on the market.
I mean, CryEngine is still extremely impressive, and they released a C++ extention for free to the mod community, i'm assuming they will support mods and prototypes with this next gen also.
what I like is the talk about aerial battles and breaking branches and stuff to that extent. and support for dual cores is nice and possability of support quad-cores
