I have no idea if I am even using the right terms. I have a base sculpture that I need to meld this new object onto it.. I know someone had posted a plugin to do this, ive searched a little bit, but hopefully someone can really help me out, tring to finish this before morning. for the grayscale renders.

Here is the file, I am tring to wrap this stack around the main form.
http://www.perplexedmedia.com/form/test1.zip

it is in max7 format

here is a .jpg of what I currently try to use.

I would like the circle mass to wrap around the edge on the right.

Thanks for the help,

Mike

I took a look at the model, but it's a bit messy. The disk model has a couple Conforms on it that are doing nothing, if you haven't done so, you might want to read up on Conform in the Help. The disk also will need some subdivision on its top and bottom flat areas, otherwise it won't bend properly across that sharp curvy edge.

But even when setup right, the Conform basically will just flatten the disk onto the other surface, the disk won't retain its extruded "steps."

Another way to do this is to extrude the stepped-circle shape from the curvy shape itself, by cutting a circle where you want the base, then Extrude the faces inside that circle to create the first "step," then Inset and Extrude again for the next, and so on.

    Hope that helps.
