If anyone can help me with this problem, i'd really appreciate it.

This is my setup:

-Dual Xeon 3.0ghz
-4gigs DDR500
-EVGA Geforce 6800 128
-Dual WD 10k rpm HDD RAID-0
-ASUS NCCH-DL Mobo

Problem: I'm running Maya 5 and it seems to stutter badly when I do and do not have a project opened up. The only update i've done as of late was the NVIDIA display drivers to FORCEWARE 81.95. When checking Windows Task Manager's (Processes), my CPUs, even while idle, shows to be running from 25%-40% constantly. The process that is showing this value is Maya. It's only been recently Maya started doing such a thing and I don't know how to fix this issue. Right now, Maya runs slow and it's unbearable to model or do anything.

If anyone has any ideas on how to resolve this, i'd appreciate the help.

Thx

BTW Nvidia just released 81.98. Also Check out to see if your graphics card and ram are seated correctly, or re-seat them... Check out your motherboard drivers and even if you have a soundcard or something in there that might also be freaking out. Also I would check to see if your RAID drivers are functioning properly, since I was having nearly the same problem before but it would just stutter for about 15 seconds then go ahead and work again... Turned out to be my RAID drivers were old and corrupted.

Hit Start, right click on My Computer, and go to Properties. On the screen that comes up, does it say "Physical Address Extension" anywhere there?
