I've tried it and it did not support painting in 2d while updating in 3d, so it did not fit into my workflow. Last I checked it only allows painting in 3d.
it sucked the last time i tried it. which was some time ago, but it doesn't look to have updated much since. it's just not at a useful state, imho. I think there was a function to paint textures onto the mesh, but I really couldn't figure it out, or it gave me some wacky results.
Oh...sorry then...
it looked like it would work if your a good texture artist.
Judging from the screenshots, thats probably the best effect that can be made.
Oh well.
Thanks for that link gmanx.
Cheap, are'nt you on a 233 mmx system? of course it's going to be slow.
Zbrush is 200 bucks, and does all of this in realtime, and using the applink plugin you can edit the flat maps in PS extremely fast back and forth yada yada.
Actually i have to side with cheapy here, as Tatto responds terribly slow on both my own computer as well as my parent's, which are respectively a pIII 500 mhz with geforce 4, and a pIV 3 ghz with ati radeon 8500 xt.
It's not just the painting and 3d, the menus are quite unresponsive just the same, which is really a terrible shame, as i could really use something like this (for free!)
Something i also noticed: You need to register to be able to use it for commercial projects. Not that they can actually find out, but none of us want to go to hell, right?

It's slow on my Athlon 1ghz w/ gf2. Deep Paint 3d and Blender are *MUCH* faster for painting.

I only played with it briefly before realizing it didn't support the things I wanted (multiple materials, multiple UVs, robust paint tools, etc.).
Body Paint 3D rocks though, IMHO, well worth the price.
