Position Information

Title - Maya Environment Artist
Type - contract position
Starts - January, 2006
Duration - 3+ Months, with opportunities for future contracts
Time Commitment - to begin on this project, a minimum of 15 hours per week is required, 20-30 preferred.
Compensation - competitive, depending on experience
Software Required - Maya 6.5


About This Position

We are seeking talented and motivated artists with great attention to detail to assist in the creation of environment objects for a Next Gen game. This position includes modeling, UV unwrapping, file organization and cleanup.

Requirements:
• high level of proficiency creating environment models in low and high polygon counts
• demonstrable proficiency with UV unwrapping
• excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines remaining focused and motivated on all tasks through completion
• open to suggestion and constructive feedback
• excellent written communication

Portfolio MUST Include:
• at least 5 example images of realistic environment modeling for real-time display
• UV maps of your examples
• samples that demonstrate strong ability to model from concepts, include concepts if possible
• samples that demonstrate strong ability to improvise appropriate details
• samples that demonstrate an excellent sense of scale and level of finish

Desired Skills and Pluses:
• the ability to leap tall buildings in a single bound
• X-ray vision
• ESP
