Pryor was great. I grew up on his comedic stylings. For those familiar with him, almost all black comedians that came after him were inspired by or directly used his concepts. He also had an incredible range from vulgar to kids jokes. His will be missed, but man, did he live a HARD life.
He lived a damn good life he was able to do what most only dream of. He may have had some bad shit too but while he was here and made a lot of people happy and inpsired even more. So id say he had a damn great run.
That was some funny shit, man... though no longer. He will be missed. I remember us sneakling his albums fromthe parent's cabintets to listen to on our record players... (Records being the black vinyl circular media that predated CD's :-)). And Silver Streak was great.
please don't be offended, but i was under the vague impression he was already dead? i guess he (unlike some people) just knew how to bow out of the limelight... he really was a comedic great. his routines in his prime were the stuff of great comedy: painfully funny because they were so insightful about society.
edit: well after reading the story, i had forgotten all about the MS. that would probably explain staying out of the public eye.

George Carlin is next... I saw his last performance, and he seemed like he had trouble even walkin across the stage.
