Autodesk subscriptions

I was looking into the subscription options for Max 8, and on Autodesk's site they estimate it at $440/year. Is anyone here doing that, and if so can you tell me how it's worked out so far?

Verm: The company I work for has a subscription and its been pretty neat so far. Its really just a way of pre-selling upgrade versions & extensions at a discount, although it also allows access to some Autodesk created tutorials & whatnot.
Its a pretty good deal. Its cheaper so far than just buying the upgrades when they are released.

Works great. They just sent me my brand new Max 8, and saved me $3,600.
