Ensemble Studios is currently seeking a Lead Artist to help create new and exciting franchises. We are looking for mature artists with a strong work ethic who are passionate about game art, game engines, and game play. You must have a desire to push yourself creatively and technically and be able to work within a highly iterative, design centered, hands-on game development process. Lead Artist Responsibilities:
Work closely with project Lead Designer and Art Director to help establish and maintain look and feel for the game; either through concept drawing or prototype modeling
Assist Art Director and project Producer with planning, scheduling and tracking of art assets. Be responsive to design goals and proactive about a production plan that supports the game design
Participate in defining tools and art production pipeline; understand advantages and limitations of our technology, and develop strategies for maximizing performance
Participate in the selection and supervision of artists and contractors
Requirements:
Experience with 3DS Max, and other game related content creation tools
5+ years games industry experience; at least 3+ years in a lead role
Demonstrated leadership, management and organizational skills, on a successful game title
Portfolio must demonstrate a love of realistic art, attention to detail, precision, and technical savvy
Bachelors Degree or equivalent from a recognized art and design program
Experience with next-gen console technology and tools would be an asset
3D Artist
Responsibilities:
Working in a small team situation producing in-game art assets. Primarily modeling and texturing, but may include some rigging and animation.
Requirements:
3+ years games industry experience and demonstrated skills on a successful game title
We are seeking experienced game artists comfortable with both hard surface and organic modeling
Experience with next-gen console tools and technologies would be an asset
Experience with PC MMO graphical limitations and modular design approaches would be an asset
User Interface Artist
Responsibilities:
Work closely with Lead Artists, Designers, and Engineers to design an intuitive interface that plays well gameplay is everything!
Create actual art assets for the UI including panels, icons, and control surfaces in both 2D and basic 3D. Establish a unique look and feel for each game.
May assist Art Director in managing other artists mass producing UI elements.
Requirements:
3+ years games industry experience; at least 1 year in a graphic design related role. Demonstrated graphic design skills on a successful game title
Bachelors Degree or equivalent in graphic design, or significant design experience in print, web or broadcast media.
Strong 2D/Flash animation and 2D pixel art skills required.
Successful candidate will be looking for a specialized graphic designers role, please do not consider this a route into a game artist position.
Game Animator
Responsibilities:
Working in a small team situation producing in-game animation. Primarily creatures and vehicle animations for either RTS or Action RPG camera views. There is some possibility of work on in-game cinematics.
Requirements:
3+ years games industry experience and demonstrated skills on a successful game title
Experience with next-gen console tools and technologies would be an asset
Experience with MMO graphical limitations and modular design approaches would be an asset
Environment Artist
Responsibilities:
Working in a small team situation producing in-game art assets. Primarily modeling and texturing of environmental assets including props and decor, terrain textures, and architecture.
Requirements:
3+ years games industry experience and demonstrated skills on a successful game title
Successful candidate would have an interest in level design and lighting
Experience with next-gen console tools and technologies would be an asset
Experience with MMO graphical limitations and modular design approaches would be an asset
