just got back from the vancouver night of the tour. mainly showing workflow between xsi and zbrush, along with a zbrush demo by one of the pixelogic guys and then a demonstration of softimage face robot.

first some tid bits concerning version 2.5 of zbrush.
- masks working in projection master
- up to about 20 million polgons possibly higher (current can only handle about 10 million polygons at the most extreme.
- ability to have certain areas of a mesh have high sub-d levels

those were the main points brought up about the upcoming version. learned some things about working with multiple objects and how to fix uv's without losing all the work put into it within zbrush (i'll try to get a small tutorial up sometime if need be).

Onto face robot, all I can say is wow. about 30 points on the faces are all that's needed with face robot to get realistic facial animations. It will be a seperate peice of software which initially will work with XSI, Maya and Max. It's just something that needs to be seen to truely grasp the true awesomeness of it. Blur studios has already used face robot for the cinematics within x-men legends 2. basically you pick the face mesh, eyes and upper and lower teeth then go into picking the major points of the face like the corners of the mouth and such.
