The American Astronaut... movie.

In my local mom/pop video store lay a rack with employee picks of the month. One of the movies was The American Astronaut.

Absolutely bizarre, and creative it was. One of my most favorite movies to see recently. Its a space story, with a rock and roll undertone. Yes, sometimes they even break out into song and dance.

The movie isnt exactly new, 2001. But it was released on DVD until 2005, not sure when exactly.

The picture below, believe it or not, takes place in bar on the asteroid Ceres, located in the asteroid belt between mars and jupiter.

Tuvalu, by Veit Helmer is a recent favorite. Quote from an Amazon review: "I'd say it's ERASERHEAD meets DELICATESSEN meets MODERN TIMES meets KANAL meets itself." It's like, a dream from which you'd wake and immediately think, "what the fuck was that?!" but wish you'd stayed asleep longer to experience more. It has this inspiringly funky, monochromatic, post-apocalyptic design, almost dialogue-free but with crucial sound effects throughout, funny and lastingly entertaining!

And you get to see Chulpan Khamatova naked.

Mmmmmm.

zardoz... maaan... it's sean connery trying to get as FAR away as possible from James Bond.. this was the result. It's glorious. and horrible. And we'll never seen another movie like it.

also, for more bad films, try Cool as Ice and Tuxedo Warrior. These movies are best watched with a large group of overcaffeinated people.

Hmm, I don't know how obscure "Miracle Mile" is, but it sure seemed obscure to me the first time I saw it.

it's not as obscure as most of these, and I know for a fact that a lot of people in this forum have seen it, but for those that haven't Six String Samurai ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118736/ ) is definitely worth a look

oh heck yes, six string samurai has one of the best soundtracks of any movie ever too.

I love Six String Samurai! It's like a silly Fallout, but in Nevada, with a kid. The Red Elvises (who played here a few weeks ago) kick ass too.
