im so lazy that i decided against making thumbnails.
aaaanyway, i have a triangle limit of 5500, and im edging on 2700 right now, so i feel i am doing pretty well. im just wondering if anyone has any gripes with the current design?
i'll be putting it into hl2 by the way.

other than that it looks pretty good
in other words. i dont know, im just letting my imagination go wild =D
His ass could use some lovin, I reckon. Looks like his hips are too far back, or that the curve of his spine is too extreme, especially with the hump of tail where it connects.
the reason for the toe claws being so extreme, is that were hoping to have him be able to swoop down and pick things up with his feet, which will leave his hands fully capable of eviscerating anyone he chooses as well =]
I see what you're going for with the S curve, though.
I wonder if that could be used as a custom game model for any of those first person shooter games.
hmmm i dont watch much anime.. got any examples?

I couldn't find any.
theres a good chance my mind made it up.
hang on, do you mean spikes like the ones Shredder has?
PS. When you upload to image shack there is a link you can copy and paste into the forum that is a thumbnail, so laziness is no excuse!
oh, and bahamut is one of my favorite dragons, so the influance is definately there (also, hes the only bipedal dragon i can actually think of for reference too).
I would make his neck bigger and extend his tail tho.
Necks tend to go forwards, not backwards from the shoulders.
if anyone has any better idea's on how to do them, please be my guest =]
ps. its at 4258 triangles, and all i have left is the inside of the mouth

i love this dragon design, nice tri usage ! ussually what ruins dragin models is the texture..i hope that this one is an exception

one word solution to that.... "ESSDEEKAY"
@poop thanks man =] im certainly gonna get it finished. ive actually got the biped rig all ready for it, including the wing bones etc. just need to uvwmap it, and rig the suckah.
then to animate it -_-
oh and im gonna start rigging later too, so i can make some neat poses with whichever skins people do, as well as my own =]
Skin that dragon!
also, before i release it, should i re-arrange the smoothing groups so its all one group, or leave tehm how i have them set up? either way, i guess you can all change the smoothing to suit your own needs/tastes yourselves, but as i understand, not everyone will be happy with the placement ive chosen, as i made it that way for the skin i have in mind.
heres my wip (gonna get a head start, so i dont get whooped too bad :P)
Oh and i think the back of his neck could totally use a beefy arm.
--StrongBad--
But a good skin should fix that right up, yaaarr.
edit: heres a link to the file!
thanks to max2 over at ESF-World for hosting it for me =]
let me know what you think =]
EDIT: i looked at it again and relized it moves a little. hard to tell at first glance. maybe add some more movement in the arms so it does not give that apperance
either way, thanks for providing useful scene formats. you could have saved file size and taken .3ds out.
spider, i am way ahead of you, that vid was taken after about 10 minutes of animating =P
