Started a new UT2004 level last week. Still very early, need to make alot of meshes for the inside of the houses. Graveyard, maybe a graves under the graveyard. Hopefully, I can make it into a Invasion map with zombies spawning everywhere for some good blood fest!
First thing that jumps to mind is the hill before the church in Resident evil 4. I'm sure you can get some good inspiration from that on how to populate the world with more details.
Judging from the period that type of church house would have been built, it should probably be a bit raised up on a slight hill. Also, any buildings you'd build nearby it would want to be facing it or built radiating out from the church at the center. Just some things to think of while putting this together.
