Hi i was wondering if anyone has experienced some uvw issues with copy, pasting and stitching.

i have to do alot of textures which have similar modeled pieces which i need to map it pretty similar as well, like the steel beams on a bridge which need to be mapped the same. so sometimes i can map one piece and copy and paste all over but sometimes i can run into portions of the mesh which are exactly alike in shape,i paste the uvw coordinates and it looks all screwed. And sometimes i can paste the uvw and hit paste again and it will rotate the map to the correct position and sometimes i flat out cant. Anyone have any idea what factors go into what is copy and pasteable and what isnt??

And my stiching issue is that from time to time the part of the uvw in the unwrap modifier disappear in vertice mode.

Anyone got any answers for these many thanks, even if a little helps speed me up ill be content smile.gif

sometimes this works, paste, if its wrong paste again, each time you paste it should paste the verts in another order, now note you cant do anything else between pastes, sometimes this don't work usualy it only works on pieces with verry few verts,

Everything is based on vertex numbering for UV points. If you attach something that is the same shape, but was created in a different viewport, it will have a different vertex order/orientation. If you try to copy and past UVs, they will come out mis-aligned. If you do some welding or manual cutting, vertex numbers may be re-ordered, which will cause copy and paste UVing to whack out.
