Here, I present my work to you, this character will have turned in our ps2 demo.
For the moment I have 2946 triangles, I would have surely 6 or 7 pages for the textures, finally for the moment there is only the head ^^.

Looks like pretty solid mesh flow, and your texture start looks good too. Keep this thread updated as you finish.
This may be purely a technical thing - I face the same in my job often where you have to stray from the concept for purely technical reasons.
My first modelings corresponded more to the concept, but on the councils of my professors, I have to adapt it to an existing skeleton (it is a pity considering which the setup will be done in bones)

Here, after my stage convention, I finally could finish this mesh.
With a margin of little thing, 120 KB of textures ( 16 or 256 colors ).
( Yes 5.5 pages, better than than I had announced )
