I remember a while ago comming across an application that used goal oriented dynamic animation for bipedal human characters. There was AI involved that allowed the characters to react to impact forces/gravity etc. Anyone remember the site or name of the animation application?
Some of the demonstrations were exceptionally amazing, they laid a character out flat, and simple gave it the goal of standing, and after 10-20 AI cycles it had a stand up animation comparable to mocap.

Saves in proprietary format and only exports to avi files. But one could animate in this, export an avi and match frame by frame if you really wanted. I think...
