It finally shipped, I can show some of my favorite work from this game. I was a vehicle modeler, and this was my first commercial foray into the world of video game development. I apologize for the large, sloppy, and inconsistent presentation.
All textures were 256 or lower, but I posted them at 512 so the detail could be seen. Average modeling time per vehicle was about a day, ~2-3 hours to map, and a day to paint. The tank took 1.5 days to paint. The helicopter took an entire day to map.
yeah they did sort of lay me off after, but I was really burnt after 5 months there, and really appreciated the break. Of all the people I met when I worked there, all but 5 are still there in the 2 months since I've left. Kinda says something about the company. I start Tuesday at Shaba, and I'm stoked. Guess I should update my sig.
The truck is probably my fav too, but the one in game is only 4 wheels, as we lost our 6 wheel vehicle support, alas. I liked the 6 wheel version better, so opted to show that one. Most vehicles were 1300 - 2k polies. The death machine is 3.5 k
