Who's getting it?
I went and reserved my copy on Sunday. I can't wait until this thing comes out! (Nov 14 in the US)
We should make a Polycount avatar for it and have a PC Mario Kart clan. You can convert images to MK avatars here:

If you get it, make sure to post your friend IDs here.

in the meanwhile, nintendogs is keeping me very happy. It really is the first game in a long time to take this country by storm. And possibly saved me from selling on my DS. Shame there's no open wireless play.
Meteos is good, but "scrubbing" in the game is too easy and allowed me to win.
That is going to rock.
Two of the games I've got turned out to be mediocre at best. And there have been only three games this year that look good to me (all in the past month). Castlevania, MarioKart and Metroid are what's keeping me from trading it in. Those three games look great
that is all set to change however, as we approach the 1st wave of releases that have been in development since the release of the handheld.
-Kirby
-Castlevania
-Trauma Center
-Meteos
-Bomberman (if you have some friends w/DS's)
-Metroid Pinball
-Advance Wars
Safe bets:
-Mario Kart
-Animal Crossing
-Castlevania
-Meteos
-Bomberman (if you have some friends w/DS's)
-Advance Wars
List adjusted for european users.
An FYI, the boost at take off is the same as the one for N64, not the gamecube verion where you tap. It took me a while to get that and i kept getting smoked until i figured it out.
Oh yeah, they havbe all the retro tracks in there too. but they are insanely hard. good luck
Yes but not everyone wants to go through the hassle of importing so that's what most people are going to see. Otherwise we could start adding games like Quendan to the list.

I'm getting mario cart on ebay for £26 a full week before it's release date here, that lower than it costs in the shops. You can get grey import titles like this very easily and quickly on ebay.
Games worth your dough:
-Kirby
-Castlevania
-Trauma Center
-Meteos
-Bomberman (if you have some friends w/DS's)
-Metroid Pinball
-Advance Wars
Safe bets:
-Mario Kart
-Animal Crossing

You can add Meteos to the top list. Just got it this weekend and it's amazing.
Edit: haha, didn't see I had already listed it. Well, it is Monday and all.
Mario Kart today!
Though, I don't like the baloon battles. So far, it's only one balloon per kart, and only one course that I like.
Everything else is cool though. All the classic tracks re-built is a breat idea.

I remember building some of the classic snes tracks in 3d on my amiga. Practically one of the first 3d projects I ever did.
The new tracks are pure instant classics! The polycounts are suprisingly high with no slowdown, ever.
two gripes I have:
(1) Racers are automatically given their position when you qualify, instead of letting them pass the finish line in sequence. I used to use this tacktic on the snes to beat down whoever was assigned as my cpu "buddy cunt" Princess for mario etc. You could waste them just before the finish and they would come in 4th etc.
(2) the SNES and GBA tracks are just flat. They could have at least remade them with some imagination. Also the old shortcuts etc are now pitted with harsh penalties because of the increased "drag" setting when going over grass or mud and so on. Basically more playtesting would have sorted out this setting, IMHO it should have been lightened a few notches.
The CPU racers are right cunts, but this is what makes the game so great!
edit: turn on ICS: http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics/serverbroadband.htm
Done.
The same works now on my mac, and the PC uses the wireless to connect to the macs network

Can you best the Red Scare???? (probably)
My last chance is SoftAP which seems to turn the adapter into a AP with should work.
Anyone wat to buy a copy of mario kart?
EDIT: Oh, just closeup shots. I thought someone managed to reverse engineer that broadcast system Nintendo implemented into the DS to show the DS screens on the TV at conventions. Their kiosks at conventions do that and I think someone managed to get something resembling the image on his DS by using a small analog antenna.
