when you zoom in on a viewport with a background image, is there a way to increase the limit when max ask if you wanna go trough with the zoom? default is 16 but id rather have it at like 70-80
Don't understand the question. What tool are you zooming with? I've never had Max warn me that a zoom was going to be too much. I think holding down Shift is the way to zoom 2x faster, if that's what you're asking.
Are you referring to a "Low Memory" error which occurs when zooming in a lot on a high-resolution image background?
AFAIK the only solution would be to lower the resolution of the background image... I don't think there are any settings for changing when it warns you.
sorry if i was unclear (blame the language barrier.. and beer )
Anyways mop got it right, when you zoom in on an image background you get a warning by max that the image will use a certain amount of memory.
The limit for this warning starts at like 16 mb which i think is kinda low and annoying. I would like that warning to popup when the image will use say 70 or 80mb.
So im not actually crashing or anything, just annoying to have that popup every time i zoom in over a detail on my background image.
Hey Motives, can you send me a max scene with this happening and the steps to reproduce it? You got me curious now. My email address is jeffs@mythicentertainment.com. What r ur machine specs?
yo jeff, should be able to just take a high rez image and put it in your viewport background, and get the error (i carn't recall getting it since max 5, and only when using crazy high rez image i generaly use image planes instead of viewport backgrounds now days tho
lol didnt realise this would be such a "weird" error. Its not like an actual error, its even mentioned in the help files. Thing is i get it all the time even with images like 400x400. Maybe im the only one who zoom in that much over my backgound pics or maybe i just have a weird system donno. Im runnin 1024mb ram on a 2.8 P4.

Either that or buy more RAM
