My wife has recently taken up knitting. She just completed her first project. A scarf for me for the upcoming cold weather. It's pretty cool to see something go from a ball of yarn to a nice looking garment.



BTW, I'm planning on posting some AgeIII animation work as soon as I get back from my extended vacation.

I was thinking the same thing. Then I remembered how my Texas relatives were visiting here in Michigan. They were wearing jackets in the 80° weather. The rest of us were running around in shorts.

She appears to be pretty talented with it. My family has a bunch of knitters in it and she seems on par with my relatives (and mom).

Once it gets into the 60's during the winters in AZ, I'd wear pants and a sweater. But now that I'm in VA it's gotta be below 50 before I start wearin pants.

That scarf is p-i-m-p! What kind of yarn did she use?

The bump map is great but I think the texture needs to be dirtied a bit... maybe some alien blood stains or something.

I remember when I was a kid and moved to AZ from Montreal. I wore shorts all year. The school called my parents in about it. They were "concerned". After that year I'd wear pants when it hit 60. Now out in LA I will wear pants and a sweater all year round on account of the Deep Freeze AC Unit at work.

Oh I plan to dirty it up. You gotta understand, in Dallas it gets really realy cold one day every year. Usually in Febuary. Other than that there are areas of Ensemble that are freezing.

This is the type of yarn she used. I chose the colors, and she chose the pattern. She's actually going to make the matching hat one or two projects from now.

I have no problem with the scarf geometry, it's the model it's placed on. You can tuck in the gut and trim the chin area a little bit. As it is right now, it's coming off as a short, dark, mexican.

Tell Kiki she did a great job.

way to sport the cool scarf, man. its not that it is cold in texas, its that it is hot. we are not used to it when it gets a little cold. 60 degrees feels pritty freekin cold when its been over 90 degrees 90% of the year. I only have one crit on the model though. bring down the head gear just a little to give him that cholo look. you know what i am talking about monster.
