finally found another few nice dual screen full 3200x1200 wallpaper. was kind of suprised to find a good quality hi-res version of this one, as the other copies i've come across were scaled-up lower res ones.
ahhhhhhh intercity express version 2 - i f**king hate that train! i see it a dozen times or so a day when staring out of my window. one day i'd like to see one of those noisy buggers fold around a bridge or something, hehe. preferably from a safe distance, though.
Wow, some cool shots in here. notman, I really like that one, nice framing.
I took this shot one morning during my son's soccer practice. Just about every sunflower had its own bee, sleeping in the middle. I petted this little guy, he buzzed a little and went back to sleep.

Thanks, same for yours. I haven't had many opportunities to snap some insects like that.
I should share one of my other photos that a buddy altered up from my DC trip. I'd have to say though, I love the WWII memorial. I'm glad it was approved to build it and I think it compliments the mall (which so many people felt would ruin it). It's a great place to reflect.
Those are from the new Korean War memorial. They are life size statues (actually, a little taller), but it's a very stunning display also. Right next to those soldiers is a granite wall with images laser etched into it. They are photos of soldiers, nurses, vehicles, and squads that were taken during the war. They look like ghosts in the wall. I tried to take a picture of it, but my camera tried to compensate and I forgot to review before leaving. It came out with white pixel noise all over it. I've been able to edit it with the burn tool, but it really still doesn't capture the feeling.
Vig, aw man, didja have to use the filter? Looks like it might be a cool figure underneath there.

Seeing how the image was the size of a pea, I couldn't stand looking at the blurriness. I should go back and adjust the filter so it looks better. Because it is a photo of a miniture, there isn't a whole lot to work with... and I was lazy...
Vig: I'd just use this image and place it in a clear corner and blend the background. The filter really makes it look sucky like that... don't bother scaling it up, I'd say.
I've still got Tully's Glambot on the left monitor. Got a photo on the right monitor, but I'd probably have to ask her for permission if I wanted to post it.
Fine, FINE! I took another 3min to "fix it"... shesh... I still think they are too tiny and there is too much dead space, even with the 2 extra images.
I tell ya, I spend 10min making 7 backgrounds one day and everyone has to poop on my rush jobs.
MoP, for a wider varity of models and pics I would go straight to the horses mouth.
Since the above "fixed" version looks pretty bad, and I couldn't stand to have it as my desktop. I decided to spend my lunch break not playing WoW, but insead making a desktop like I should have last week. It still looks kind of "amateurish" but really, I think its leaps and bounds over what I had.
Vig: Dude, you are so damn jaded. Those aren't filter lens flares, they're from Samuel Oschin Telescope at Palomar. Those are the real-world optical artifacts that the infamous filter tries to duplicate.

MoP: Well, simply put, I don't look at my desktop normally.

Same here, I have one of the backgrounds that came with Windows, since if I'm using the PC I'm not looking at the background. So I never participate in these threads.
Jaded? yes, of course. I swear I have seen that same star field done by the same 2 billion people that liked mirror spheres hovering over a checker board.
Knowing its the real deal only gets me mildly excited about it. Sorry if I crapped all over something you thought was really cool =/
