little guy i started on the flight from austraila back to the states.. took about 7 hours i think.. was also watching the horrible in flight movie bewitched..

here is the wire.. it was actually my starting mesh for my neversoft art test.. i just modified it bit in zbrush..





this is where it is now.. hope to color it..

he's got a lot of classic zbrush noodly bits, but what's really making it for me is the elements you've given very sharp angles to, like the chin and that "shelf" on the cheek. i'd like to see the neck and the back of the head brought up a little more to match the rtest of the head, but it is definitely looking good. particularly the very subtle surface detail on the jaw. nice going.

nice, i like the expression on his face, he's got some personality. overall really cool looking, what I'd do is maybe throw some tiny detail in a few places thats smaller than the brush stroke (pm or stencils) some pores here and there, just a little extra to take it beyond being just sculpted with a brush. other than that coloring the thing should do it my favorite area are the eyes and the stuff around them.

Also, to elaborate on what gauss was saying about the back of the head, I could see it split open like when a fly opens its wings and maybe something hive shaped growing in there. And for the neck area (is it a male?) give him a prominent esophagus. For some small scale detail maybe a layer of deep wrinkles.

thanks dudes.. i am still experimenting with different possibilities for the neck and the back of the head.. i also feel it will really bring the piece together.. started playing with detaily bits.. more soon to come..

Nice... the fine detailing is really helping this one. Are you using a bump for the really fine stuff or jsut cranking it up to some crazy Subdivision level?

small update..decided to make a fancy bust with stand and everything.. low rez cage that will taken into zbrush..cant wait to wrinkle up the cloth..

I think the neck should be slightly hunched forward, or exceptionally muscled in the front, otherwise that rear skull weight would make it difficult to hold it upright for long. Perhaps a more protruding upper chest to give the neck more leveratge.

With the small eyes and large ears and nose, it looks like an evolved bat, probably nocturnal, wider range of hearing than humans, the skull looks like it typically is bent forward to bear the weight (despite all I suggested as coutermeasures) so it probably is either capable of flying, or evolved from a tree dwelling, nocturnal hunting primate/bat.

Fuck that is looking great, I like the regal quality about him..seems very ancient. Also dig the tiny tiny eyes, makes me think he has evolved using his other senses and helps him look that bit more evil.

Looks really great, the one thing that bugs me is that the nose looks like a rubber prosthetic, because the nostrils don't seem to have any depth...
