I'm trying to blow up a pumpkin in Max. I'm using a PArray to break up the mesh into fragments, but I want to get the pieces to fly towards the camera and basically go splat as it hits the camera. Right now I'm using deflectors and gravity to control where the pieces go. Is there a better way of doing it? I know in Real Flow there's something that attracts all particles to it, is there something like that in Max?

Check our Particle Flow, it is an event driven particle system that comes with Max.

A Reactor physics solution could also be usefull.

You might want to hand animate a couple pieces to get them to go exactly where you want towards the screen. Use PFlow for the bulk, but adding a couple well placed pieces by hand will bring it all together.

Thanks for the suggestions, am going to have to try those out sometime, but unfortunately I got another project thrown at me that was needed for today as well so I had to do a real quick animation of the pumpkin blowing up all over the floor instead of flying at the camera. Not as cool looking but it worked.
