In other Halo news, a character from Halo is is going to be playable in Dead Or Alive 4!

Knowing Tomonobu Itagaki's 'tastes', my money's on the character being Cortana.

I think I might go and play through Halo and Halo 2 again.

Cortana is the one character that makes the most sense. As you dont get to see her fight in the games and she has a nice body.

Weta doing the FX is exciting. I'm not sure how much involvment Jackson will have as an Executive Producer, but at least this means they're putting a reasonable budget in for the movie, which bodes well.

WETA is doing aweful lot lately... I sure hope that tight deadlines and a wide spread team isn't going to effect the quality of their work.

But a movie with the awesome ringworld concept is sure going to have some eyecandy, even though the story of Halo is rather boring, and the enemys even more so.

Keg: I'm pretty sure he's joking, Uwe Boll purposely makes bad movies to exploit a loophole in German tax laws for the financers of failed movies. This loophole is being closed up in 2006, lets hope Uwe never gets his hands on Half-Life.

ringworld story was great

halo just borrowed the idea of the ring and filled it with monsters. I don't really see how it would make a great film unless they took some more ideas from the book.

Alex Garland is writing it too ... which is vaguely interesting. I don't rate his writing though - while the Beach was pretty good, The Tesseract was thuddingly awful and the 28 Days Later script was mediocre at best

He made a Ringworld spoof but had a discworld (not THE Discworld, a different one) instead of a ringworld. Strata had a storyline that AFAIK was a direct spoof of Ringworld.
