looking for a certain sci-fi tv movie or pilot

I remember seeing this odd sci-fi show on tv a while back, it was either a tv-movie or a pilot that never developed into a show. It involved a town that was on a border between light and darkness, there was actually a line down the terrain, one said was bright and sunny the other side was dark and spooky. This doctor travels there to train under this surgeon who performs pyschic surgery with these weird rubber gloves. When they put the gloves on it sucked on to their hands (basically they filmed them pulling the gloves off and played it in reverse, but it looked pretty cool).

Old, saw it as a kid, made in the early 70's?
It's about an astronaut that is sent on a mission to the opposite side of the sun where they discover a mirror earth!
He crashes on the mirror moon and the government is pissed at him thinking that he fudged the mission. Everything is mirrored cars, words just wacky.
