This (along with whatisadat.org, which is advertised on getgoatz.com), is a part of a viral marketing campaign for www.gametap.com.

When I first noticed the commercials on Adult Swim, I immediately recognized that they were part of a viral advertising campaign (since they were obviously fake and designed to entice you to visit the url). At first I resisted checking them out, since I hate that sort of marketing (I hate marketing/advertising in general), but then I thought they might have something to do with Adult Swim which is why I checked them out and eventually found out they were advertising gametap.

If you go to www.whatisadat.org (either directly, or by clicking the ad on the "getgoatz" page), take the test on the front page, and then click the button to schedule an appointment, you'll be taken to a page explaining the whole thing.

that's the thing about viral marketing like this--like those famous "Supergreg" spots complete with homepage which is arguably the best example of the genre: it doesn't really end up working. they end up producing something entertaining, but it seems like it makes me less inclined to actually buy whatever product they're trying to get to you. way more entertaining, though. smile.gif i think these guys were pretty heavily inspired by the homestar runner guys' fake games/tv spots.

Microsoft's viral campaigns are far more convincing than these. These are more like a high school project than an ad campaign.
Either way, they're still pretty funny smile.gif
