I felt like modeling something other than a person. I always model characters but I am going to try to model some weapons. here is a little something I put together over the weekend. C&C welcome. I don't know if I will make a shieth or not. I also posed it with my dragoness chick. just click on the thumbnails to see the enlarged images.

In terms of the sword I'd say to study a few materials and match the surface properties a bit closer -- my eye is having difficulty with the scale and surfaces because it keeps seeing plastic mold and fake chromed metal. Maybe check out www.imageafter.com and find some referance pics of the metal type and the leather hilt wrap (what I assume is what it's meant to be). Otherwise, looking good

She would hack her wings to pieces but really who cares she's hot with or without the wings. The sword looks good but kind of lacks some texture sharpness. This could be caused by low texture size or poor texture painting? The edge of the sword doesn't seem sharp in the lower right render. Maybe putting the back of the bade on a seperate smoothing group from the front might give it that sharp edge back?

thanks for the crits. I will see what changes I can make. FYI...I am making a new gothic skin for the girl. just incase anyone cared. I will post it later

Any chance we could see the flats, or is it made of procedural shaders? I think the design is cool, and I like eye eyeball in the hilt. Maybe something holding it on would be cool.
