I have 2 days till I fly outta here to go on my NYC trip. I have some awesome hotspots I'm gunna hit, but I wanted to get a nice lil reminder from the great number of NYC films out there shot in NYC.
Any reccomendations? This is what i'm gunna watch:
New Jack City
Ghost
Goodfellas
I can't think any others off teh top of my head.

Mean Streets, Taxi Driver... But you may never have heard of After Hours, not at all what you'd expect from Mr. S, but a great, great film. Simultaneously a satire and a rockin' love poem to NYC at night. I just about lived that movie one time.
You could also consider Midnight Cowboy, Smoke, and even Dog Day Afternoon. For some reason, the real NYC is always in the 70s for me.

It was all soundstages, and/or St. Louis.

Oh yeah. God bless Walter Hill. Gotta school my young 20-something friend on that one, quick.
I think I knew something about NYC geography after a couple of viewings. At least, I knew that Coney Island was a hell of a long way from the Bronx.
