Some environment concepts

Now that these have been posted on the company site I figured I show them. Did these a while back. Anymore I'm pretty much doing nothing but concept and 2d art at work.

Each one took about five hours to do.

The mood the images set is nice, however I believe your environments are a little flat. They seem to be lacking depth. Also the contrast is extremely high. Both of these could have been intentional though

hey I really like the middle one. Cool statue you got there. Do you use photos of stuff in your pics at all? Some of it looks extremely realistic. Nice bright colours too.

Yeah, most of these are paint-over chunks of people's vacation photos. I wanted to try the method out. While I do enjoy it because it produces fast results, you lose a great deal of composition control. I don't paint this way anymore but I learned a great deal form images like these.
