The potential workflow will be varied and interesting. You will need to be skilled in Alias Maya, specifically at producing models/animations for real time rendering, while also being able to produce “Animatic” like sequences for use in post production compositions. Particle system animation experience is also a major advantage. Being skilled in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premier Pro would be a distinct bonus but are not essential.

Successful candidates will be responsible for associated issues such as how to technically implement controller navigation from a spec provided the Lead gui designer, and how to successfully meet and implement Sony TRC requirements when applied to the Motorstorm interface design. You will need to understand the complex issues of dealing with multi format media assets and their integration into a scripted interface design. Lur scripting ability or aptitude to learn – preferably with experience on an Interface project would be highly regarded. Specific knowledge of technical aspects of Alias Maya, Adobe Premiere and after effects would also be a distinct advantage for this role.

Candidates are required to have at least two years' experience in the film, broadcast or games industry, strong technical insight as well as good artistic and creative skills, excellent technical knowledge of Maya, specifically rigging, scripting, particles, dynamics and other high level Maya skills and a good understanding of automating processes and stream-lining art production workflows.

    That's a lot of jobs, makes me wonder why there were so many layoffs in the u.k.

    well as I said its been steadily rising but this seems to have been abit of a dump,its gone back down to about 7 vacancies a day.

    Id be guessing its the whole next gen thing coming into play and the impact might well be much more ovious in the UK than the US maybe.

    Also I guess the Big Coporate companies are having to look deeper than the bog standard student looking to "work anywhere for anything"...again becuase of the next gen tech coming into play.

    Just wondering acturally,if anyone from the UK here knows if there any talk of incorporating the use of Zbrush or at least hi-poly theory into UNiversity Videogames courses and college courses?
