A gorillaz model...

I am making 2D from the Gorillaz band. This is simply a small project im doing because I love the character, and I want to see him ingame some of my favorite games .



latest render, which is...upside down...for some reason..

and some wires, the currest polycount is just over 1600, i want to keep this under 2k.



It needs a bit of work, so crit me up.

are his legs normally that long? i'm not sure about the shoes either... but i'd love to see this cel shaded, the face looks dead on.

as you can see, it needs a bit of work before I can call this mesh done and start texturing. Although I cant wait ;p. I am doing a cel-shaded skin for renders and stuff and then a soft tone skin for the final ingame mesh.

Well, err...I started on the head, but since school is back in, my time to work on him is limited . But ohwell, no rush here.



everything is still VERY WIP, especiall the ugly ass hair, I don't know what to do with it, its mapped very crappily, ima have to redo that later.

2D is the lead singer, he doesn't play the guitar . Well, atleast not in any of the pics I have seen, he either has a mic or a spray paint can.

lol..this model has to be the best model ive seen based on a gorilla characater(not that ive seen many). I love the way you textured his body and his face, but the bit o purple on back of his head(behind his hair..kinda)is annoying .
and yes..im pretty sure he plays the guitar for a instant in feel good inc video. 9.5/10

Ahh, that purple is just the unskinned ear . I just skinned the shoes and im starting the hands later, I was at a parade and a cookout all day, so I have had zero time to work on him, and i got school tommorrow....blehh...

Anyway, I might do a guitar for a render or something, but not when it goes ingame.Thanks for the comments guys .

Alright, this guy is almost done, just got a few touchups around the folds of his cloths and skin his ears...i always do ears last for some reason.... anyway, here is another render of what I got right now:

and unreal render=awesome effect . you should try doing a small 3d music video..if you have any talent in 3d animating..but youd need to make more of the group

I think you'd be hard pushed to find a pic from Hewlet where they do. He's a sharp pointed elipse kinda guy.
