Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone knew of a online music store or one around seattle (I know there's a bunch of seattle people on the boards) that have rent-to-own/financing plans on their instruments? I've been looking but I keep coming up with the big stores like guitar center or musician's friend... and you can only get financing by getting their credit cards... bleh!

Anyway, I've just been eager as hell for the past few years. I really want to get into drumming and since I live in an apartment I was thinking of getting a nice electronic drumset... like a Roland's V-drum line (stage or pro). But I'd only be able to afford that if I pay monthly. And I don't wanna get another credit card to get it.

Any points in the right direction would be much appreciated. Or maybe if one of you seattle people have a drumset like mentioned and wanna finance it out to me..... *hint hint nudge nudge*

... back to the craptastic google searching for stores

renting to own a drumset, especially an expensive electronic one, is going to be a tough task. getting a musicians friend or guitar center credit card isn't a bad thing really, since you'll most likely be using it only once. and as much as i hate to admit it, guitar center is good if you want to get electronic drums because they have many different kits and TONS of accessories for them.

i used to own v-drums and used them for learning records before going out on tour. they are very very useful, and amazingly fun.

PfhorRunner - just sent an email to that place and they do rent-to-own the drums I want... Gonna call 'em later and find out the $/month and the final price.

BIOS - I actually looked into musciansfriend a lil more and getting the card doesn't seem so bad afterall. Apparently there's no interest the first year either... I'll have to read that over and over again just to be sure. Plus you can't beat their prices... I guess I'll end up going through them if kennellykeys isn't too expensive.

Well there's also Mill's Music ( http://www.millsmusic.com/ ) But I've found that they're far more expensive for a smaller selection... The only reason i say anything about mill's music is because my Track Coach's family owns the business.
Plus, all the business they expect to get are little kids going into elementary band and stuff... so i wouldn't really suggest them for anything besides getting a beat-to-shit flute to chuck at some innocent bystander.

thanks. I'm basically starting out. I've played on a bunch of my friends' drumsets and I can keep a rhythm and a beat. So I still actually need to LEARN how to play. I just find it insanely fun playing with drums for hours on end, and I'd like to have a hobby that isn't infront of a computer... LOL.
