Hey guys

Got a hardware problem it seems....

I have a Duel BootSystem with Windows98SE and Windows2000,Basically we increased the RAM from 512 to 1024MB and Windows 2000 works fine,but Windows98SE is refusing to boot up properly .

Is Windows98SE having problems reconising the new ram or could this be another problem?

get Memtest (http://www.memtest86.com/), boot it from a CD, and it'll tell you whether or not your RAM is bad. It's a great program, I use it many many times daily (i work at a comp shop)

if that's not the case, read this, it's a bug for 95, 98, etc

win98 doesnt handle any amount of ram over 768mb.

Take out 256mb and it will boot fine.

I had a win98 machine about 3 years ago, i threw in 1024mb ram (GOOD WORKING RAM) and had the same issue. I pulled out any one of the 4 (256mb) sticks and it'd boot fine.

Just saying from my own experience that seems to be the case.

Hey Thanks alot guys...

Sonic we took your advise and that of the link and we adjusted the mentioned.ini file....it works damn well now.

Hawken:- The point of it is,that we can play games that only run on 98 or earlier .

Thanks again all,saved us a whole truckload of trouble.
