The bounce on my mouse button is really starting to get annoying, and it's not getting any better, so I think it's time for me to get a new mouse. Anyone have any recommendations for mice that's worked really well for you?
Logitech MX510... best mouse I've ever had.
I haven't yet heard a bad word about the Logitech MX range... mainly the 5xx series are the ones to go for, I think.
I've always used Microsoft IntelliMouse for the past what, 5-6years since they were released.
Have a few Logitech, Opius, etc. They've not had the same feeling of sturdy quality, and ease of use that the IntelliMouse has had.
It's the same reason why I bought new Sony DualShock2 controllers for my PS2. The one that came with it just felt light and tacky. For some reason the official ones you buy in the shops feel like they're built. Good to have that feeling of quality in your hand then you never worry about feeling uncomfortable.
It depends how much you want to spend... Anything logitech is amazing
I had the mx510 for the longest time.... Lately I got a mx518 (thanks joe) And Its amazing..... If you want to go into hardcore gaming logitech just announced there g-series. Its a badass gaming mouse where you can adjust your dpi of the laser on the fly!
Yeah, I think Poopinmymouth recently bought the g-series mouse with the adjustable DPI, apparently it's really good.
Raven: Heh, my flatmate had a wireless Intellimouse Explorer, last year the batteries in it exploded.
Also, my hands are pretty big, and I still feel that the Intellimouse's size is too large (I'm sure it must be the same guy as designs the XBox controller - must have HUGE hands!) ... and I'd have to say that yes, my Logitech mouse has a very sturdy quality feeling. It's also really comfortable, and fits in my hand really neatly. Super-sharp accuracy for gaming, too
The weirdest thing is, Logitech aren't even paying me for saying this!
i got the mx1000 for home, and i woud love this mouse, if not for the size, its like navigating your desktop with a severed midgets head. the most anoyin part is that the scroll wheel is up on a heal that its hard t press it without pressing one of the useless buttons that is right next to it. i think i'll go back to the 700 soon
Looks like the mx510 is the most recommended. What's the difference between that and the 518? was expecting to have to spend somewhere around 50 on this. I have an MS intellimouse right now, pretty happy with it except for it crapping out after only 2 years. Love the two little buttons on the side. How long have those who have an mx510/518 had their mouse?

heh.. I don't like the new generation of the IntelliMouse, they seem HUGE. I'm still using the first generation things, which aren't particularly large or small.
Something I really like about it more is the ambidextrious shape.
That's the one I'm currently using. When v2/3 were release the price dropped considerably, so I got quite a few.
Problem with them being first gen though is there are some minor glitches. For example using my tablet with it will reduce the dpi by half (which isn't exactly extreme to begin with), and it's scroll-wheel has a habit of going nuts randomly. Something I reckon is probably down to poor drivers more than mouse issues.
I've had a few Logitech, none of the £50 gaming mice; but honestly.. if I'm going to pay that much for a mouse it better be able to actually auto-aim in Counter-Strike for me and say 'Danger Will Robinson!' whenever someone is close.
just thought I'd mention this, but I had contact logitech about the mx518 and they finally got back to me and told me that it only works with XP, no software upgrades or patches that makes it compatible with win2k, which really sucks. Guess I'd have to go with a mx510 then.

Avoid Belkin. It's pure crap baby. And over time the oil on your fingers melt the paint away. I know from experience.

I beg to differ. The previously mentioned g-series: Logitech G5

i stand corrected that baby is gonna be mine..
It is getting harder and harder to get decent '3button and a wheel' mice, maybe I should just stack up on RazerViper since they are cheap right now
I only use the buttons for games, but I might try assigning them to my photoshop actions or something
