A guy at work here works in Max often and he said that all of the sudden something happened and he can't use the scroll wheel+ctrl/alt to pan/rotate/zoom anymore. Is there some setting that controls this that he can turn back on, or does it need a reinstall to fix?

Yah, he needs to go in to this mouse options (Control Panel) and make it so that Mousewheel & mousewheel + KEY just ='s a normal click.

I had the same problem where clicking the mouse button + another key would do something outside of Max, but effect Max so that I couldn't use the short cuts.

Hopefully I explained this well enough.

Thanks, will have to give that a shot. I'm sure he'll be really pumped if that works.

Ok, another dumb question, but how would I check that? I was just looking at my mouse properties in control panel trying to find it so I know what to tell the guy, but I'm not seeing any option that would indicate that the scroll wheel and scrollwheel+key is a normal click. Where is this option located?

It might be mouse dependant. I am using an Logitech MX500 with the software installed. If he doesn't have the software installed, tell him to install it then try.

    Hope this works.
