the title says it all but ill try and be clearer.

Im just wondering if there is a way to bring up a grid (or scale the blue one thats there) down to a pixel or 2 size.
I read somewhere that when you unwrap objects to stop things "bleeding" into each other you should always leave 2 pixels or more space between them, the question i now ask myself is how do you know how big 2 pixels is?

Cheers

A better option than the grid is just to turn on the Pixel Snap toggle. It's in the lower right corner of the Edit UV window, the icon looks like a magnet. Click and hold on it, and make sure that the magnet with a P above it is selected. (P for pixel). The only catch is that it will only snap to pixels of a texture in the Edit UV window. If you haven't assigned a texture, it won't snap to the default background. So, use a stand in texture at the resolution that you will be painting at to get you going.

To be honest, the grid completely annoys me. If you had a grid every two pixels, you wouldn't be able to see anything in the Edit UV window. There are grid options under the Edit UV window menu > Options > Advanced Options. Once I get a good setup, I'll usually go to Options Menu > Save Current settings as default.

I always add a bleed of about 4 pixels on a 1024x1024 map.. wand select the texture in photoshop and say 'expand selection' to get it right.
I then load this as the image in the editor and then use mid-pixel snap. Works better than the grid would.

besides, dont be too anal about it... just guess it... it doesnt have to be exactly 2... just so when the filtering and MIP mapping blends pixels together you dont get color bleed. smile.gif
