In 3 weeks I will be moving out to Port Coquitlam, BC (just east of Vancouver) to begin working with the guys over @ Threewave Software.
As some of you know on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week they flew me out for an in-person interview. When I came home I went on a 4 day camping trip... and came home with MY DREAM JOB!
Needless to say, I'm over excited. I'll be a texture artist working on a project, that I feel, will 'make my career' - something that has added to this excitement ten-fold.
So yah, YAY ME!

Soooo is your GF going with you now or what?

Goodluck with the new job, and don't dissapear on us.
Gail's coming with me right from the get-go. There's a lot of job opportunities out in Vancouver for her in her field (event organizing) so she's eager to start looking. Plus, one of the co-founders has offered to help her search for a job so they're really supportive of it.
Anyway, I can't wait. I'll be out in 3 weeks (sorry J-man!). 2 weeks notice is in @ work then I have 1 more week to figure things out.
aesir: har-har!
Gail is an event organizer and hasn't organized a Polycount event? LAME.
oh, grats on the gig though. =]

I should probably take this time to personally thank Ross (Pak-Rat). Without him my portfolio wouldn't be where it is, my skill set wouldn't be where it is, and my future with Threewave Software wouldn't be where it is. A year ago he messaged me and offered to help me, in ALL hours of the day, get better as an artist. By talking with me over the phone***, through e-mails, and on MSN Messenger he managed to kick my ass in the right direction... and 1 year later here I am with a full-time game job.
***He once called me from Montreal via his cellphone at about 11PM to talk with me for an hour about the basics of 3DStudio Max. Montreal's long distance so I'm sure it cost him an arm or a leg - just an example of how much he wanted to see me succeed.
So thank you Ross. You're *truly* an amazing, helpful person - and a great friend.
Thanks again everyone - you've all got my thanks here @ Polycount!
btw: I expect my 10% on the 1st and 15th, or it's your knee.

Seriously though, drive and persistence always pay off in
the end and belief in that can carry you through the rest
of your career.
Best of luck to you and keep in mind, it will never get
easier and the while the learning curve never ends it is
still a fun climb
r.
I want my book back too, holmes.
hahaha
Rest of you: Thanks so very much!
