Last week I signed the contract for my first game industry job and I am very very happy. It's not for an art position as you would expect in this board but as a project manager.
I love making game art but like to keep it as a hobby. Project manager is perfect for me since it's my education, work experience and hobby all rolled into 1.
I have been working in a corporate culture for the last 9 years as a senior consultant but the last years it was really eating at me that I wasn't working on a product that I really love. Since I live in the Netherlands and can't and don't want to leave the country my game industry options are very very limited. I am 32 and was getting very comfortable in my corporate carreer and had a little bit given up hope for a job in the game industry until I saw this job opening with Playlogic 3-some weeks ago. Since then everything went very fast and I am starting on September 1st. I would have wanted to start sooner but I have in my current contract that I have to stay another month after I resign.
For a long time I have seen numerous people post here about their new jobs and breaking in and I was always a bit jealous but now it's me. Yay for me!

I'd also like to take this opportunity to point out that it's a lowercase "L", not an uppercase "I" at the start of his name... silly indecipherable polycount font
