how the hell do you set up ctrl z to have continuous undos?

I set a key bind for "history backward" to ctrl-z and shift-alt-z to go forward and back in the history. You might want to set the default level of undo's higher, also. To check key binds or re-bind them go to edit/keyboard shortcuts. I unbind undo-redo as it is usless to me.

that's the prob. in ps 7 there is no edit/keyboard shortcuts. there is in cS but not 7. don't know why.

well that sucks... I went from 6 to CS since I heard 7 wasn't much of an upgrade. They might be set to binds already but you can't change them try pressing shift-ctrl-z (forward history) and alt-ctrl-z (backward history). hopefully they where not too lame and did not bind these for you already.

There should be hotkeys in 7. if ctrl+z works, then there are shortcuts in there.

ctrl+alt+z = Undo history
crtl+shift+z = Redo history

If those don't work you might be missing a config file (config? I'm not sure that's what it is). All you can do about that is maybe ask someone else who has 7 for thiers.

There's an option in the Settings, which says "Ctrl-Z toggles Undo/Redo". Un-check that checkbox to make Ctrl-Z always be Undo.

What exactly is the option called. I can't seem to see it there...

EDIT:Never mind, my Photoshop has rebinding anyway.

there's actually not a box in PS 7. in CS there is but not 7. it's not that big of a deal...it just seems stupid to have to hit ctrl+alt+Z.

I got used to ctrl alt z instantly.

In Photoshop 7 it's not a toggle, it's a drop-down box in Preferences > General called "Redo Key". Set it to ctrl-y. That's it.
