As long as this place appraises at the right amount, this is where I will be living shortly:
(Clockwise from top left)
Outside from the street
Looking in from the front door
Master Bedroom
Kitchen
4 bedrooms
2.5 baths
(I can't find the sheet with the square footage right now. I think the gf took it to work with her
)
The nice thing about living and working in Portland is being able to afford to buy a house like this. No way I could have afforded this on my salaray in California or the Seattle area (having a VA loan doesn't hurt either). I just hope that LD stays stable for years to come

now for the crits, the walls look fake ,work on the lighting and what are you trying to do with the box on the floor, this whole environment is confusing. Maybe add a dog wife and kids for realisim,or a cat thats up to you

Looking to buy next year (in seattle), going to be hell i am sure!
Now all you need to do is build a portcullis and dig a moat!
Good luck AZ. Make sure to at least try to pay attention to the books they are going to shove in your face to sign. =]
nice pad too!
Just bought a new house too but they aren't done building until early next year.
Lets just hope the appraiser is working for you and not the bank. Ones who work for the bank often shoot high to make their clients happy, they want the repeat business from the bank. If you think it's too high I am pretty sure there are ways you can challenge it, or have an inspection done and have him find things that knock the price of the house down. Sometimes you have to fight dirty but really you are fighting to get into a place where they are fighting to screw you over, so really who is the one fighting dirty?
next on extreme makeover, the home edition...
I thought that "half bath" might throw someone that wasn't from the US. I don't understand how you can have a "bathroom" without a "bath" either but that's what us crazy Americans call it
[edit]
Got the square footage: 1760
I just bought a townhouse here in MD about 3 months ago. 2 bedroom, 2.5 Bath (plus an unfinished one in the basement) about 2000 square feet.
I'd like the place a lot more if I stopped trying to paint / improve all of it
Should rename em to shit closets.

damnit! and I don't have a half-bath anymore to use this phrase! DAMN!
the recessed ceiling lights are a nice touch. i've started installing them around my (parent's) home over the past year, and visually opens the room up more since there's no longer and fixtures hanging from the walls or ceiling.
the house and property in general looks awesome; nice colors inside and out, and with a bit of lawn too!
congrats!
Ahhh! Get that thing away from my house, MoP!!!!
i mean err um, enjoy, you responsible you, it is a good market for buying a house now.
Congrats on the jai.. err new house!
lol Shit Closets..thats a new one.
tim
Looks like a great place though, I hope you're happy with it
The house I'm in now is governed by the Home Owners Association. That means for a small yearly fee, they take care of all landscaping, mowing and other external 'visuals'. It's not a bad deal, considering how little time I usually have away from work
Congradulations! Wait until you fill it all up with stuff.
never understood the american need to refer to the lav as 'the bathroom' even when talking about public bogs with a row of urinals and cubicles, but hey... vive luh difference as i say.
I want one too, throw in a wife and I'll pay cash.

Actually, we call that a 'restroom' in the U.S. If it has a bath or shower, THEN it's a 'bathroom'
It's like suggesting guns are dangerous heh

Thanks again to all the well-wishers.
