I got bored with making anime style characters, so I thought it might be fun to change things up slightly and making a realistic looking anime char. So I started working on Sakura from Naruto (latest manga version) and this is what I've got so far.
The eyes shouldn't be diagonal like that if you're going for realism. Usually all four corners (two corners per eye) line up, of course in reality they tend to be rotated a bit but not symmetrically and equally often into both directions.
Also her lips look a bit large but maybe the wire distorts that perception.
The neck is very thin, is that supposed to be a remnant of the anime style or just an error?
doh! I always noticed that about the eyes, I just never consciously connected the fact and used it in modelling. And I hadn't even noticed the strange size of the neck as realistic proportions seem different for me thanks to anime ><;
I'll put some refs into the viewports so I can get it right.
I've only been able to work on this a little bit at a time for the past week, but I think I have enough done to show
I tweaked the facial features some but there's still something bothering me about, and I likely won't see it till I'm all done with this thing and reviewing next month or something >>;
Yeh the character looks cool are you trying to get the face accurate to how an asian person looks??
In the Sakki 5 jpeg in your last post the character reminds me of Dhalsim from Street fighter if you get rid of the tits and with those arms as long they are your like half way their to making him.
You said that you make kinda anime manga models??? Do you have any other threads where you have put a few pictures of those models up.
Thanks for the suggestions @Enix: I didn't even notice that until I started working on it again. Thanks.
@Lazyboy: I was trying to go for an asian look, but I'm guessing it's not there yet?
I don't have much of anything posted here, but if you really want to see some of my anime stuff you can check http://chasarsis.deviantart.com
I only have my most recent models there though, so its not too much. And watch out for the crappy drawings >>;
@Quasar: Thanks, that really helps with the look of the posture, though now I'm wondering if there will be riggin/animating problems later on because of the position of the arms and the way I have to model the muscles to reflect that position.

*edit* Oh, and bring those shoulders up too since her arms are lifted up.
