I can't get any of the AVI files to play using Windows Media 9 or Quicktime. both tell me they can't find a decoder for the files. anyone have any suggestions?

What videos? See, it helps if you give a little more information.

Generally the DivX/Xvid and Techsmith Codecs should sort most of your woes.
