So anyway I moved to the new place a while back and things have been hectic ever since. One of the things I kept meaning to get around to was air conditioning. As it was, my router overheated every fifteen minutes. Two months go by and I finally got the air conditioner. I took it home and started assembling it, once I finished I realized I'd need to construct a shelf and a shield as every window in the palace opened and closed left to right instead of up and down, a critical detail I probably should have noted earlier.
So I draw up some plans for a shelf, etc and head down to the part of the house with air to make a few calls and to escape the heat. After arguing on the phone over a few pieces of wood I went back to my computer already pissed, only to find it mysteriously off.
I figure it crashed weird, though it's never really done this before, and hit the power switch, nothing. I hit it again, still nothing. I look through the window and the network lights are still blinking so I assume my power supply is fine. But the fans and hard drives aren’t spinning. I figure my motherboard is dead, along with what else I don’t know.
So now I guess I’ve got to run back and forth to comp usa buying parts and installing them in hopes there isn’t something wrong with the power supply that fries every new part I shove in the machine. *crosses fingers*

pull the power cable out, and put your thumb on the ground to drain the caps, then plug it back in and turn it on. if your mobo lights are on, then it probably is your PS. if you have a p4, the 4pin connector besides the atx that goes to your mobo could be busted.

first thing id recommend buying to put in to test is a power supply. and then, if its not that, its your mobo (even with a dead cpu/ram the fans and hard drives will still start up).
