I have accepted as a character artist working for Bioware! I'm going to be working on an unannounced next title utilising the unreal 3 engine
I'm moving out there in early August so if there anyone who works there, or polycounters who live in Edmonton give a msg.
I'm really excited about leaving the Uk!
Also my work has been shortlisted to appear in D'Artiste character modeling, so that was an added and unexpected bonus.
Lots of good stuff happening and I had to share the joy

You'll love it @ Bioware I'm sure.
Great news on the job, I'm sure Bioware will be fun ... I also plan to move to Canada in a year or so, once I have my degree... I'm not following you around, honest!
Nice work getting stuff shortlisted for D'Artiste, I was gonna submit some stuff myself, but didn't manage to make the deadline...
Congratulations all round!

Bioware and Unreal Engine 3 sounds like a god damn dream, I hope you enjoy it
I can't wait to get out of the UK too, but I fear it's gonna be a long way off
Can't wait to see your name on them credits
John
I actually work at Bioware too. I'm in the QA department here, however, not the art one, but I'm on the same project, so we might well run into each other
You're going to love it here.. I can honestly say, I've never once failed to enjoy coming into work every morning, even during crunch.
Did Bioware do an onsite interview with you? or just one over the phone.

Waterpark, amusement park (complete with roller coasters), a hotel, churches, casinos, an ice rink, submarines, a pirate ship, and more!
I heartily advise NOT going on Christmas Eve, however.
Paul go for it, I think Canada has allot going for it.
I've been working in the uk for the last few years, and although there are some good studios here things haven't worked out with the ones I've worked for, but I'm confident that I'll finally be part of a successful team at Bioware. (plus the company seems to treat the staff very well )
PaK , I had a phone interview to begin with, it was a conference call with several art directors and lead artists. That went well and they got back in touch and arranged to fly me and my girlfriend over for an interview, and a chance to look around Edmonton.
So when I got there I spent a day drooling with jet lag and forced myself to pay attention to a whole series of interviews with art lead/directors/CEO's and Hr. They paid for the flights and the hotel accommodation so I was more than happy to visit them for the interview
MPBirdman excellent! I'll have to come say hi when I get there, and I visited the West Edmonton Mall when I was over with a few friends, it is just ridiculously huge.

Definitely
Something along the lines of a beer could be arranged as well I think, given that there is a pub right below our office.
All the best, I think you deserve the success.
