Ehh I don't get hyped up about this stuff . If the other game companies has been as smart and aggresive as EA they would be doing the same damn thing . I just wish EA would make a decent game with those licenses
Substitute "smart and aggressive" for "stinking rich and omnipresent" there, and you'd probably be closer to finding out the reason why other games companies don't do this sort of thing.
Question: do other companies care to make sports games based on current teams and stats? i mean, how much can you evolve with that? same shit, different numbers. in that perspective, let 'em have it and rot.

How did they get stinking rich and omnipresent ?? Maybe they have a magic money tree in the basement gaurded by a 3 headed dog ??
One of the best games of all time (and i'm sure 99% of the non-mental population will agree with me here) was "EA Hockey" on the megadrive from, what was it, 1992? This was made before any sort of licence deal (hence the name, a la Sensible Soccer) and pioneered the fantastic auto-aim-on-goal-depending-on-the-predefined-attributes-of-the-selected-character-combined-with-the-players-skill-in-positioning-and-bang-on-timing gameplay that was the model for almost every team/goal sports game since.
to my mind, EA and hockey are syononinonmous, and good luck to them

Doubt I'll play a sports game again unless it's made by Nintendo.
Osme might argue that this is perfectly fine capitalism, I'd say capitalism wasn't designed to handle IP trade.
