Hi I was wondering if there was a polycounter for max or stand alone tool that counted all the vertices added to a model after unwraping it, adding separate materials and smoothing groups. I thought someone from the boards was working on this already. Can you let me know if there is such a thing other than Maya's cool toolset since I don't have access to it.

there is no "generic tri strip algorithm" there is quite some libs out there which do different and you can have quite some tweakables
so its somewhat unreal that you will see it in a script

And if anyone ever wants to modify it to take tri-stripping into account, feel free. You'd probably want to check with a programmer working on whatever engine you're using to see what kind of algorithm to implement.
