Anyone Else Having Sound Problems in GTA: SA (PC)?

Just wondering if any of you who also bought the PC version of GTA:SA are having problems with the sound cutting out? I've looked on some of the GTA forums and only found the suggestion to disable or turn down hardware acceleration which does not seem to work. I have tried running it both through my speakers connected to my sound card (SB Live! 5.1) and through my headphones connected to Integrated Audio. The problem persists either way.

Anyone have any suggestions? There's some great old-school gangsta rap in that game and not being able to listen to it without the skipping/cutting out is really detracting from my overall enjoyment (should also mention, the cutting out only seems to happen with the music and the voices - not SFX).

I'm kinda wishing I would have bought the Xbox version now instead.

I think GTA 3 had this problem related to the copy protection scheme on the music disc, most drives had trouble reading the copy protection data fast enough to prevent skipping. Dunno what happened in the meantime.

I have had a problem, once, when the sound completely cut out for a few minutes, then the game crashed. Hasn't happened since.

Damn. The only work around I have found is to turn the radio off when I'm in the vehicles. The voices still cut out and skip though.

Try installing a nocd crack, just to see if it changes anything.
