Edges that are ever so slightly rounded instead of razor sharp will catch highlights much better and give a better sense of realism. -Nothing- has perfectly razor sharp edges in real life..... except for razors.

Going even further, remember to not smooth all your edges the same amount either. Use different chamfer/extrude/inset values so that your edges have different strenghts, for more variety.
